What it's like to have an indoor garden in your school
We sat down with Chefs Tahani and Joy from Growing Chefs on their experience having a Terrace Pro Indoor Garden in one of the schools they serve.
Growing Chefs is a non-profit organization in Vancouver, BC on a mission to connect chefs, kids, and communities to foster systemic change towards healthy, sustainable, just food practices.
They run LunchLAB, an innovative school meal program that serves students accessible, nourishing, culturally relevant lunches prepared by students with the mentorship of a team of Chefs-In-Residence.
LunchLAB empowers youth to cook food for themselves and their peers, providing opportunities for kids to find delight, dignity, and belonging in their interactions with food.
LunchLAB operates in 5 schools across Vancouver, two of which have a Terrace Pro Indoor Garden where the students, teachers and chefs grow fresh, nutritious veggies and herbs to incorporate into their meals.
